com·mu·ni·ty (noun): a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals
At Beyond the Blackboard, we believe in the power of learning through play. Whether experiences happen in the classroom or at home, the richer the child’s learning environment, the stronger the lessons learned. Our job is to support parents and teachers in their journey to educate all children.
Jacqueline and Jean have lived in Colorado for over 25 years. We raised our children here and love our local communities! As a family we believe it takes a village to raise children. In our business, we donate back into the community, to support the healthy growth of children.
In 1995, Jacqueline co-founded one of the first charter schools in Colorado, The Renaissance School of Expeditionary Learning. It’s now a thriving magnet school located in Castle Rock. In 1997, when Jacqueline was pregnant with her third child, she decided to run for the Douglas County Board of Education. Mere hours after finding out she won the election, she delivered her daughter! She proudly served the children and schools of Douglas County for eight years.
Jean volunteers and works with Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado, Alzheimer’s Association, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She has volunteered at every school level, from elementary to high school, and at the administrative level.
Personally, and through Beyond the Blackboard, the sisters, their families and staff have supported hundreds of local charities including Adam's Camp Colorado, St. Baldrick's Foundation, Food Bank of the Rockies, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and MANY schools and classrooms!
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
